Introduction to the course

This course is for people with learning difficulties and disabilities of all kinds. This class provides a setting for you to develop your computing skills, using both word processing and typing programmes. It is hoped that you will gain a basic understanding of what computers are all about and what they have to offer. You must demonstrate an interest in computers and be able to recognise letters and numbers.

What do I need?

No formal qualifications are needed for entry on to this programme.

Options are two hour taster courses in different subjects offered at the College. You will develop your communication and group work skills.

How is the course taught?

This course is for those with learning difficulties and disabilities of all kinds. This class provides a setting for you to develop your computing skills, using both word processing and typing programmes.

How will I be assessed?

You will be assessed through tutorial support throughout your programme.

What does it lead to?

You may have the opportunity to progress onto more substantial part-time or full-time courses within the College.

Entry Level

This level gives you a thorough and developed understanding of the subject area.
