We can support you to manage your finances when you study with us. We run a number of schemes to help students on low incomes or those in receipt of benefits. Most financial support schemes are based on your age and your financial circumstances.
The Learner Support Team at the Enfield or Tottenham Centre is your first point of contact for all financial matters. The contact number is 020 8442 3966.
Support for 16-18 year olds
Most courses are free if you are aged 16-18. There are two types of bursaries available to help you with things like course materials or travel.
The Mandatory Bursary is worth £1,200 per year and is available to you if you have been in care or are currently in care, or you are on certain benefits.
The Discretionary Bursary is worth up to £720 per year and is available to you if you are from a lower income household. You also need to be studying 10 hours a week and will have a good attendance and work record at the college.
To apply for a bursary and FE Free Meals if you are aged 16 - 18, phone the Learner Support Team information line and complete the form by clicking on this link Bursary Fund and FE Free Meals Application Form 2015-16.
Free meals at College
The College free meals scheme entitles eligible learners to have free meals at lunchtimes on the days that you attend the College. To apply for this scheme please complete the Bursary Fund and FE Free Meals form. The link to the free meals form is just above this message.
If you live in a London Borough and are 18 and under, you can apply for a Zip Oyster photo card which gives you free or discounted travel around London on buses, the tube, DLR and overground. Application forms are obtainable online at www.tfl.gov.uk and in some cases need to be validated by the Learner Support Team.
If you are aged 16-19 and need help with childcare costs, call the Department for Education & Skills' Care to Learn team on 0800 121 8989 or go to www.direct.gov.uk/caretolearn.
