"I became a bus driver in 2002 with Metroline. A colleague was a Union Learning Rep here, I gave her feedback about how the service could be improved and she liked my ideas and recruited me.

I went to the College to do my Trade Union Learning Rep course. It gives you a different scope, teaches you how to approach people, how to assess their exact needs, especially disability. Now I am a Learning Rep for one day a week. Otherwise I’m working as a driver.

I really enjoy this side of it – selling the idea of training to the drivers, making sure they learn something. I’ve even been to 10 Downing Street with the Learning Bus.

The computer course is invaluable, not just for you, but for everyone, so that you can become just as educated as your children. And it’s very popular - we had 28 learners return to the new class.
