Learner Support Fund / The College of Haringey, Enfield and North East London Aid Fund

The Learner Support Fund provides eligible learners with help towards the cost of course fees, materials, equipment, exam fees and childcare. You need to apply early - as soon as you enrol - as the funds are limited.

Adult Learning Grant (ALG)

The ALG is intended to help working adult learners studying full-time. Learners must be 19 or over and in full-time or part-time employment. To qualify you must be studying for your first full level 2 or first full level 3 qualification. Subject to a financial assessment by HAPB (Helpline, Assessment and Payment Body) the grant pays up to £30 per week during term time.
You will not be eligible if:
• You are in receipt of ‘out of work benefits’ i.e. JSA or IB
• You are a part-time learner, i.e. Less than 12 guided learning hours per week.
• You are a distance learner

Free travel and Oyster discounts
 

If you are under 18, you should get a Zip Oyster photocard which gives you free or discounted travel around London on buses, the tube, DLR and overground.
If you are over 18, you should get the 18+ Student Oyster photocard which gives you a 30% discount on adult travelcards and bus & tram pass season tickets. Applications for 2010/11 academic year close on Friday 30 July 2010.
