"Studying at the College really prepared me for University, and now I’m aiming for success in international business"

Arnold has just started the second year of his degree in Business Management at Kingston University. Alongside the support and encouragement of his family, he thinks the teaching and guidance he received at the College were crucial in helping him get his place at University.

“I remember the day that I got my results – I needed 160 UCAS points to get my place at University. That meant that I needed to get a distinction for at least half of my course. I got a distinction and a merit and knew that was enough to get my place – I was so happy!”

Arnold found that encouragement to fulfil his potential was all around him at the College – and not just from his teachers.

“My Business tutor Benson always said to me ‘I’m here to help you help yourself’, and he was always asking me ‘where do you want to be in five years’ time?’. He was really like a father figure to me, and was even a referee for my British citizenship application.”

“The mentoring manager was always pushing me to do as well as I could and to aim as high as possible. She helped me to take my work seriously – I even gave up playing for the College football team in my second year, so that I could concentrate on my work. I’m really glad that I did – studying at the College really prepared me for University, and now I’m aiming for success in international business.”
