"The facilities for my course are excellent. The social facilities are brilliant too"

Irfaan has always been a keen – and successful – sportsman, but at College he’s now on course to make his career out of sport too. He has played football for the national football team of Mauritius, and still aspires to making a living as a professional footballer, but he also knows it’s important to have a top quality education under his belt. So he’s thrilled that his Sports and Fitness National Diploma is preparing him for a wide range of employment opportunities:

“If I’m not with a professional team when I get towards the end of my course, I may apply for a university place. With the coaching badges that I’ll pick up from the course, I could just as easily go straight into a job, though. I really enjoy that practical side of my subject, though I know the written assignments are important too! Because I want to play sport full-time, I’ve been fascinated to learn how professionals train but also how the whole world of sport away from the pitch works”

“The facilities for my course are excellent. The social facilities are brilliant too – they really help everyone mix and make new friends. In fact, socially this is a really good place to be – I was amazed that the learners here have so much provided for them, from the Lounge to all the mentoring and other support.”
