“It was an easy decision to come to the College – I knew that established music artists had done the same course”

Marcus is making the most of his time at the College. His course represents his passion as well as a serious career aspiration, and in his spare time he’s taking advantage of our enrichment activities, which are open to all learners.

“I knew I wanted to do something with Music because it’s already in my family, but it was also an easy decision to come to the College. I knew that established music artists had done the same course I was applying for. Take MC Shystie, for example – she’s gone on to have a successful career after coming here.”

“At the moment I’m working on putting a soundtrack to a film – it’s been a really interesting thing to do. It’s made me realise how many options I’ll have at the end of the course - now I’m thinking that soundtracks and commercial music might be a good thing to get into. What’s helped is that the course isn’t just about making music. I’ve learnt so much about things like copyright and the law – it’ll definitely help me get on in the industry.”

“When I’m not in the recording studio putting a track together, I use the gym and I play basketball at Tottenham Green Leisure Centre with other learners as part of the enrichment programme.”
