A celebration of women in our community

The College of Haringey, Enfield and North East London is gearing up to celebrate International Women’s Day on March 6.

A range of fun and free activities will be on offer, thanks to the College, Haringey Council, Haringey Women’s Forum and local women’s groups.

IWD_poster_Web.gifCome along to the Tottenham Centre (between 11am and 4pm) and check out a variety of stalls, support and networking opportunities, light lunches and goodie bags.

Visitors can learn more about salsa dancing, jewellery making, beauty makeovers, hairdressing, painting and decorating, recycling, plumbing, small gardening, card making, creative writing and much more.

There will also be activities for children.

The theme for International Women’s Day this year is “Laughing about life to help and heal women”.

During the day the annual Haringey Unsung Women’s Awards Ceremony will take place in association with Funny Women. 

Come and learn the secrets of stand-up comedy in the morning, and by the afternoon you could be performing with our MC Missman!
