Although learners attend the college principally to study, it is important that they enjoy the overall experience of college and are sufficiently supported throughout their studies.
So as well as finding out about the activities of the Student Union and the other college support services, local organisations are also invited to attend. This year, Barclays Bank and the Adolescents in Haringey and Enfield Alcohol and Drugs Services (AHEADS) had a stand.
Around 400-500 students visited over the two days the fair was held. The feedback from students was really positive states Karlene Sutherland, the Student Liaison Officer/ Youth Worker. Many said that they found the fair really useful and that they now know where to turn to if they have any problems.
The companies that attended were impressed with the college facilities and the turn out by the students. The plan is to grow the fair every year by inviting more local support organisations to attend, so next year we hope the event will be even bigger and better.
