When hurricane Ivan tore through the island of Grenada it left 90 per cent of buildings damaged or destroyed. It then continued to wreak havoc through Jamaica and the Cayman Islands. All money raised from the appeal will go towards providing new houses for families who lost their homes due to this natural disaster.
To further boost the Colleges donation the Principal, Paul Head, decided to forgo sending staff Christmas cards this year in favour of splitting the money between the Caribbean Hurricane Appeal and Breast Cancer Awareness.
So in total, CONEL is thrilled to be sending a cheque for 431.21 to the Hurricane Appeal. The College would like to thank all staff who gave their hard earned cash to this worthy cause.
