A local 17 year old music entrepreneur, Michael Lowe, has approached the College of North East London (CONEL) with an interesting proposition. He is offering to run a Peer Mentoring programme in conjunction with the College.

Ten Level 2 learners at the College of North East London (CONEL) are soon to embark on an educational trip to the United States of America. This trip is a part of the Colleges curriculum and learning enrichment programme, which allows learners to enhance their learning outside of the classroom. This should inspire them to take their education further and much more seriously, by giving them an extra dimension to their work and motivating them.

The College of North East London (CONEL) will soon play host to a performance of Michael Frayns Noises Off, put on by its National Diploma in Drama Year 2 students. The play is a farcical comedy about a touring theatre company, which focuses on the hilarious events backstage during the final rehearsals and opening performances of the fictitious play, Nothing On.

A second year student at Middlesex University is playing an integral role in an art class - one of the Open College Network Options at the College of North East London (CONEL). Currently on a placement as part of her BA Honours Art degree course, Patricia McQuade has opted to follow the Art Practice in the Community route, which requires the degree student to practice and share their art skills in the local Community. Patricia chose to do this at CONEL.

Tutor/student relationships at the College of North East London (CONEL) are not restricted to the classroom only. Some activities start at the top of a 500 foot wall. This is what Tosi Umenyilora and a group of her learners faced when they abseiled down the walls of Guys Hospital at London Bridge for charity - The Anthony Nolan Trust.

The College of North East London is to be featured in a film as part of a project by Haringey Council. The project, aimed at asylum seekers, refugees and people arriving into Haringey, is being funded by the European Refugee Council.
