The Exams Hall at the Tottenham Centre hosted a spectacular display by the Shaolin Lion Dance Team
More than 100 people attended the visual extravaganza in the Exams Hall, including some from the nursery level.
Special guests from the Shaolin Lion Dance Team played music and there was a tiger dance performance as well, marking the Year of the Tiger.
Karlene Sutherland, Project Manager of BRACE, said she was very pleased with the turnout and the wide cross-section of cultures that attended.
“Although the Chinese culture is a minority here at the Tottenham Centre, it’s important to make people aware of things like Chinese New Year,” Karlene said.
“The BRACE team did a fantastic job organising the event and there was a really good interaction with the 14 to 16 year-olds in the Q&A section.”
After a short presentation from BRACE team members, Martina Harvey and Marsha Stedman, students were able to test their knowledge and win some Chinese themed gifts for correctly answering a series of questions.
