A film, made by an Animation student at the College of Haringey, Enfield and North East London, is being used to promote a new Haringey Council mobile phone service.

The film made by Nkakini Echeonwu, who is studying Animation BTEC Level 3, promotes a service that allows residents to monitor air quality.

The free sign-up service called AirTEXT sends text messages when air pollution rises and is targeted at people with respiratory difficulties and heart or lung problems.

The film will be shown on the Life Channel at 36 doctors’ surgeries and four schools across the borough, and at Wood Green Shopping City over the next two months.

Jane O'Neill, Vice Principal for Curriculum and Learner Experience, said: "This is a great achievement for Nkakini so early in his career and a testament to the wonderful depth of talent we have at the College."
