City Year is currently recruiting young leaders aged between 18 - 25 to train as mentors. 

An open session will be held on:
Friday 11 November, 6.30pm - 7.30pm at: The College of Haringey, Enfield and North East London, Tottenham Centre, High Road, Tottenham, N15 4RU

Attended by Rt Hon David Lammy MP, the open session is an opportunity to find out what is involved and how you can make a difference.

About City Year
City Year believes young people can change the world by
transforming the lives of children. We recruit a diverse range of young people to work with us full time for seven or eleven months in London schools. City Year people act as role models, mentors and tutors, supporting teachers to help children improve their attendance, behaviour and performance at school.

What can you do?
• Join our teams and volunteer in local schools as tutors and role models
• Lead fun and creative after-school and community programmes
• Deliver presentations and speaking at public events as
representatives of City Year and ambassadors for citizen service

• Up to £100 per week for expense, plus travel allowance and
eligibility for a Citizen Service Award of up to £1000

All applicants must:
• Be between the ages of 18-25
• Have the passion, commitment and emotional maturity to
be an inspiring role model for children and an impressive
ambassador for young people
• Be able to dedicate seven months (January 2012 to July 2012)
or eleven months (August 2012 to July 2013) full-time
• Have a good standard of formal written and spoken English
• Agree to a CRB check

Training starts in January or August 2012.
