Frequently Asked Questions
- What is an Apprenticeship?
Apprenticeships refer to on-the-job training leading to industry recognised qualifications.
- What will I get paid?
You will earn approximately £95 per week.
- What hours will I be expected to attend?
Training runs from 9am to 4.30pm Monday to Friday. You will be expected to attend during these hours. When you are in the workplace you will work to the hours set by your employer which are likely to be similar but could be longer.
- Will I be sitting exams?
Yes, the AAT qualification has 17 exams and a project! You will need to be prepared to work very hard but it is worth it.
- I may want to go to University after the course. Is this the right programme for me?
Yes. You will be studying a Level 4 qualification equivalent to the first year of a Degree course. This allows you to gain entry to many universities with typically exemption for the first year of a Finance Degree. Alternatively you might consider the professional Accounting qualifications such as ACA, ACCA and CIMA where again typically exemptions from the first year of study are provided.
- I already have an employer. Can I still join the programme?
Yes. If your employer agrees to the schedule and agrees to allow you to attend training on the specified dates, then that is not a problem. Just ask them to contact us for an informal chat.
