What will I learn?This course offers a fast track to university for mature students who have no formal qualifications. It will give you a wide knowledge of a range of work-based information technology skills. You will study software applications, Visual Basic programming, business technology, web page design, communications, study skills and numeracy.
What qualifications do I need?You must be at least 19 years old with the necessary background and motivation to succeed. You do not need any formal qualifications, but you will be required to take an English and numeracy assessment, and have an interview. You should have Level 2 or equivalent skills in ICT.
How will I be taught?The course is taught in a classroom through lectures, work-related practical assignments and group work. You will be supported to develop your level of independent thinking and research skills, essential to successfully undertake a university degree.
How will I be assessed?Assessment is through practical projects and coursework assignments.
What could I do next?You could progress to an HNC/HND or apply for a university degree course.
