What will I learn?This course will develop your skills to study on a degree programme. You will engage with psychology, sociology and philosophy. You will also develop study skills, including essay writing and note-taking. You build a portfolio including a university application form, presentation of witness statements, essays, reports and projects.
What qualifications do I need?You must be over 19 years of age, with the motivation to succeed. You do not need any formal qualifications, but will have the desire to study at degree level, with a mature outlook on life and studying. You will have an interview and assessment to determine your suitability for the course.
How will I be taught?To help build your portfolio you will be given guidance on writing on critical issues in psychology, sociology and philosophy.
How will I be assessed?You will be assessed through your essays, reports, presentations (witness statements) and projects.
What could I do next?You can go on to a higher education course such as a psychology, sociology or social policy degree.
How would this benefit my employer?This course is primarily designed for our students who will attend university to follow a course of study. The College will equip our students with the necessary transferable skills that will benefit potential employers such as: word-processing; spreadsheet (input and analysis) accuracy of language, grammar and general report and writing skills.
