What will I learn?You will learn how to use a computer in your everyday life and at work. You will be introduced to the functions and uses of a computer, such as word processing, spreadsheets and database packages.
What qualifications do I need?Basic computing skills, such as using a mouse and Microsoft Windows including basic word processing skills. Literacy at Entry Level 3/Level 1. It is recommended that you attend an advice and guidance session to complete an assessment and find out if this is the right course for you.
How will I be taught?This course is taught in a classroom using a mixture of group activities and discussions.
How will I be assessed?You are assessed by set assignments from the exam board at the end of each unit.
What could I do next?You could progress to the Certificate in IT User Skills (ECDL Extra) (ITQ) Level 2.
How would this benefit my employer?The employer will be instilled with confidence when planning programmes of care knowing that the student will have achieved the necessary skills to ensure that they carry out their duties to the best of their ability, based on codes of practice and the demonstration of good ethical decision-making.
