  • What will I learn?This course offers an opportunity to anyone who would like to develop skills in English. You can work on writing, reading, spelling, grammar and essay writing. You will need to be able to use a dictionary to check meaning or spelling and be able to read simple text fairly independently.You should also be able to complete up to half of page of writing (A4) with some help.

  • What qualifications do I need?You will need to read fairly fluently and be able to write a paragraph independently with few errors. At the interview, a tutor will help you to decide which class you should join. You will be asked to do a number of reading and writing exercises and these will help us find the appropriate class for you.

  • How will I be taught?This course is taught in a classroom using varied teaching and learning techniques. You will have a mixture of group activities, discussions and practical activities.

  • How will I be assessed?You will take exams at the end of the year.

  • What could I do next?You could progress to Communication Skills Level 1 or another course suitable for you in the College.

  • When can I start? Most courses start in September, January or February and at various points throughout the year. Courses are held at our Tottenham or Enfield Centres.
