  • What will I learn?This is a full time programme for those who want to improve their spoken English, Literacy and Numeracy skills whilst learning about a specific vocational area. You must be able to purchase your own specialist equipment/kit.

  • What qualifications do I need?You will need Entry Level 2 in reading, writing, speaking and listening. If you do not have the above entry requirements you will be required to take the College's initial assessment, which will need to show that you are working at Literacy Entry level 2/3 and Numeracy Entry level 2/3. A meeting will be arranged with you to discuss the course requirements

  • How will I be taught?You will follow a core programme of adult literacy to improve both your written and spoken English. You will also improve your numeracy skills. The course will provide you with a basic introduction to hair and beauty techniques. Salon health and hygiene, preparation and maintenance of the work area are also included.

  • How will I be assessed?You are expected to complete a portfolio for the hair and beauty modules of the course.

  • What could I do next?You could progress to Level 1 Hair and Beauty courses.

  • When can I start? Most courses start in September, January or February and at various points throughout the year. Courses are held at our Tottenham or Enfield Centres. Tottenham Centre, High Road London N15 4RU – nearest station Seven Sisters, or Enfield Centre, 73 Hertford Road London EN3 5HA nearest station Southbury.
