  • What will I learn?This course will develop your counselling skills in a workplace setting. It will help you to understand and deal with anxieties, and become more effective in pastoral care and other personal roles.

  • What qualifications do I need?You will need to demonstrate emotional maturity and be using counselling skills as part of your paid or voluntary work (minimum two hours per week). You will normally have had at least three years relevant work experience.

  • How will I be taught?You will need to demonstrate your use of counselling skills within your paid or voluntary work setting.

  • How will I be assessed?You will be assessed through written coursework, assessed role plays and an external examination. This course is validated by the Counselling and Psychotherapy Central Awarding Body (CPCAB).

  • What could I do next?You may progress to the BACP Accredited Diploma in Counselling, based on further interviews. You could also go on to further study in person centred art therapy (PCAT). You will improve your career prospects and may decide to go on to other courses such as Care and Health, Childcare, Access to Social Work or Youth Work.
