What will I learn?This intensive course is for you if you are currently studying construction at our Tottenham Centre, not working in the plumbing industry, or are unemployed. You will study topics including health and safety, key principles, common plumbing processes, cold water systems, above ground discharge pipework, central heating system pipework, electrical supply and earth continuity systems.
What qualifications do I need?You will need GCSEs at grade A - C in maths and English. Other requirements will be discussed at your interview, which will include an initial assessment of your basic skills.
How will I be taught?The learning programme includes workshop practical plumbing skills training and practical assessment, plumbing theory tuition and plumbing theory assessment, key skills tuition including numeracy, literacy and ICT.
How will I be assessed?The course is assessed through practical assessments and computer based multiple choice exams.
What could I do next?You could progress to Year two of the same qualification then onto the Technical Certificate City & Guilds 6129-3 Plumbing Level 3 or NVQ Level 2, depending on your Employment Status.
How would this benefit my employer?Employers looking to employ a trainee will benefit from the learner having completed this 2 year progamme of underpinning knowledge which qualifies the learner to undertake an NVQ Level 2.
