What will I learn?This is a one year teaching qualification for people who want to work in the Lifelong Learning Sector, or who are already working in the sector but do not have a qualification. You will become officially qualified as an associate teacher and you can progress onto DTLLS to become fully qualified. The course is designed to enable you to adopt an integrated approach to theory and practice of teaching. What qualifications do I need?You must be qualified to Level 3 within the specialist subject you wish to teach, with good written and spoken English, and be IT literate (Level 2). You need to be in a position to complete 30 hours of teaching practice.
How will I be taught?A wide range of teaching methods are used to meet your learning requirements, including lectures, group activities, workshop, tutorials and sessions in assignment writing.
How will I be assessed?You will be continuously assessed throughout the course. Assessment is subject to external verification.
What could I do next?Progress onto Diploma to Teach in the Lifelong Learning Sector (DTLLS) City & Guilds Level 5.
