What will I learn?This course is fun, informal, and easy to understand. You will learn the basics of computing from learning how to switch on a computer and use a mouse, to exploring the internet for the latest weather updates and holiday bargains. You will also study producing documents and posters, searching the internet for information and communicating information using ICT (email).
What qualifications do I need?You will need to demonstrate you have basic literacy skills to enable you to follow instructions. It is recommended that you attend an advice and guidance session, where you will complete an assessment.
How will I be taught?You will be taught using a mixture of practical and theory tuition.
How will I be assessed?There will be an assessment at the end of each unit, and to achieve the full qualification you will need to successfully complete all units. This will be assessed by your teacher and moderated by the awarding body.
What could I do next?You could progress to the Award in IT User Skills (ITQ) (NEW CLAIT).
