What will I learn?This course is for those who are at the start of their careers and need a broad vocational introduction to art and design, this course develops design skills including: painting and drawing, contextual studies, sculpture, 3D graphics/digital imaging, time based media and key skills, textiles, sculpture and 3D design products, and a variety of 2D media.
What qualifications do I need?You will need three GCSEs at grade D or above including English, or equivalent vocational and literacy qualifications. A strong interest in art and design, a portfolio of work or a project set by the College at interview.
How will I be taught?You will be taught through a series of lectures, practical demonstration and responses to design briefs in a variety of settings, including field trips.
How will I be assessed?Assessment is conducted at regular times to assist in the completion of your units.
What could I do next?You could progress to the Level 3 Diploma/Extended Diploma in Art and Design on a related subject.
