What will I learn?This course is ideal for learners progressing from a Level 1 course and is recognised as a necessary qualification to work in the health and social care sector.
What qualifications do I need?You will need to be at least 16 years of age with a keen interest in health and social care. You must show the ability to work at Level 2 and have three GCSEs at grade D or above including English or literacy at Level 1 or above. Criminal Record Bureau checks are required.
How will I be taught?You will have a mixture of group activities, discussions, lectures and practical activities. You will complete a minimum of 60 hours work experience.
How will I be assessed?Assessment is through a mixture of assignments and portfolio tasks.
What could I do next?You could progress to a Level 3 course, such as the BTEC Subsidiary Diploma in Health and Social Care or the Extended Diploma in Health and Social Care, or you can apply for employment in a range of careers within the caring professions or health-related areas.
