  • What will I learn?You will learn about information and communication technology, including the following units: introduction to computer systems, uses of IT, information systems, introduction to databases, web development, graphics and business applications.

  • What qualifications do I need?You will be asked to come in for an interview and take a literacy and numeracy assessment to see whether this is the right course and level for you.

  • How will I be taught?You will have a mixture of guided lessons and individual work.

  • How will I be assessed?Assessment is through a portfolio of assignments. You will be expected to spend additional individual study time in the Learning Resource Centre Library to successfully complete the programme.

  • What could I do next?You could progress to a Level 3 vocational qualification such as IT BTEC Diploma or Extended Diploma Level 3 or IT Users Advanced Apprenticeship Level 3 or you could go directly into employment.

  • How would this benefit my employer?The course will cover aspects of knowledge, understanding and competency necessary for employmernt within the sector.
