What will I learn?This course gives you a good general introduction to the various media industries and you can either specialise in Media Production or Games and Animation. You learn skills in video production, web design, 3D modelling and animation. You will also develop an understanding of the media industry.
What qualifications do I need?You will need three GCSEs at D or above including English, or equivalent Level 1 vocational and literacy qualifications. Relevant work experience will be considered for adults returning to education.
How will I be taught?Teaching is through a series of lectures, seminars and skills workshops led by industry specialists in purpose built media studios. You will use a range of professional equipment including Apple Macs with specialist software (including Final Cut Pro, Adobe Flash, Maya, Dreamweaver) and HD video cameras.
How will I be assessed?Assessment is continuous and you will build a portfolio of media products throughout the year.
What could I do next?You can progress to the Level 3 media courses in Creative Media Production, Games Development or Animation.
