What qualifications do I need?You will need three GCSEs at D or above including English, or a Level 1 vocational qualification plus a relevant Level 1 literacy qualification. Relevant experience in the field of study will be taken into consideration for adults returning to education.
What will I learn?This course provides a good general introduction to the various media industries. You will learn skills in video production, writing magazine and newspaper articles, web design and interactive media. The course is intended as a progression route to either a National Certificate or Diploma in Games Development or Media Production.
How will I be taught?Practical skills workshops using professional equipment, industry specialists, Apple macs, design software, video cameras and editing techniques. Lectures and seminars about the industry.
How will I be assessed?Portfolio and continuous assessment. No exams, assignments, presentations
What could I do next?Progress to a specialist area in media at Level 3.
