• What will I learn?This course is ideal if you are returning to education or want to train or prepare for employment in the uniformed services such as the police, emergency fire services or armed forces. You will study the following units: the public services, public service skills, public service fitness, crime and its effects, sports and recreation. You will also develop your capabilities in IT and communications.

• What qualifications do I need?You will need four GCSEs at D-G or equivalent, including English. A strong interest, and preferably the desire to pursue a career, in the public services.

• How will I be taught?You will attend workshops to support your work on assignments. The teaching involves presentations, role plays, teamwork activities, online research and input from employers.

• How will I be assessed?There are practical assessments for the key modules.

• What could I do next?You could progress to the National Certificate/Diploma in Uniformed Public Services.
