What will I learn?This Level 1 course is suitable if you have no knowledge or skills in IT or computing. It will give you a foundation to progress to either a general IT or networking course at Level 2.
What qualifications do I need?You will be asked to come in for an interview and take an English, IT and numeracy assessment to see whether this is the right course and level for you.
How will I be taught?The course is taught mainly through classroom lectures and a range of practical work-related assignments, which will help develop your competencies to entry level standard in industry. The course is a mix of taught lessons and individual work
How will I be assessed?During the course, assignments you will complete and build a portfolio. Students are expected to spend additional study hours in the Learning Resource Centre Library in order to successfully complete this programme.
What could I do next?You could progress to the IT BTEC Diploma Level 2 or IT Users Apprenticeship Level 2.
How would this benefit my employer?The aim of the course is to introduce learners to IT is used in real world situations the spiritual, moral, ethical, social and cultural issues are inherent in all aspect of IT and centres can explore these issues through discussions and assignments.
