What qualifications do I need?You will need four GCSEs at grades A-C including English or a Level 2 vocational qualification at merit level plus a relevant Level 2 literacy qualification. Relevant experience in this field of study will be taken into consideration for adults.
What will I learn?This is a specialist course designed to give you industry standard skills in the development of computer games. You will study games design and production platforms, 3D modelling and games environments. You will be able to design and produce games from idea to final product. You will gain an in-depth understanding of industry skills, operation, audience and games products. You will either progress to a junior games industry role or to a specialist games or interactive media degree programme.
How will I be taught?Practical skills in computer platforms, games design, 3D animation, modelling and environments. Lecturers, presentations and seminars about the industry and technical attributes.
How will I be assessed?Practical presentation, games products, portfolio, assignments, presentations.
What could I do next?You will be able to progress on to a university degree. You could gain employment in the games industry.
