What qualifications do I need?You will need 2 GCSEs at Grade A*-F, Literacy and Numeracy at Entry Level 3 (Level 1 preferred) and a satisfactory reference.

What will I learn?Entering employment into the sports, leisure and recreation industries is often very difficult. This could be due to age, lack of experience or not having the right industrial qualifications. This course has been designed with young people in mind, and during the course you will gain the skills, qualifications and experience required to seek employment within leisure centres, gyms and other providers of sporting activities.

How will I be taught?The course consists of a series of industry related practical units which build up to form the NVQ qualification.

How will I be assessed?The NVQ programme is a practical based qualification and each unit is assessed according to the requirements of the programme. Assessment methods include: written portfolios, practical demonstrations, examinations and observations.

What could I do next?You could progress to the Level 2 NVQ or Sports programme or employment in the sports, leisure and recreation industries.
