What qualifications do I need?You will need to be at least 17 years of age, preferably hold Adult Numeracy and Literacy at Entry Level 3 or Level 1 or Skills for Life at Entry Level 3 and pass the initial assessment at the appropriate level. A reference will be required.
What will I learn?This course is for those who want to develop accounting skills and achieve a language qualification (recognised at key skills Level 1). This course covers a range of units such as recording income and receipts, initial trial balance and supplying information for management control, making and recording payments, health and safety, achieving personal effectiveness and working with computers (SAGE).
How will I be taught?This course is taught in a classrooms through workshops, guest speakers and visits.
How will I be assessed?You will be continuously assessed through skills tests and exams, together with your completed portfolio. If you are unemployed, you will need to arrange your own work placement.
What could I do next?You could progress to AAT NVQ in Accounting Level 3.
