What qualifications do I need?You will need to achieve competence in all simulated assessments and external exams at AAT Level 2 in order to be eligible to join the course. A reference will be required.
What will I learn?This qualification is aimed at those already working in accounting to allow you to build on your existing skills. To achieve the award will be expected to complete five mandatory units which cover maintaining financial records and preparing accounts; recording and evaluating costs and revenues; preparing reports and returns; working with computers; and contribute to the maintenance of a healthy, safe and productive working environment. The award offers progression to a range of levels of occupationally specific awards with currency in the accounting sector.
How will I be taught?This course is taught in a classrooms which includes workshops, guest speakers and visits.
How will I be assessed?You will be continuously assessed through skills tests and exams, together with your completed portfolio. If you are unemployed, you will need to arrange your own work placements.
What could I do next?AAT NVQ in Accounting Level 4 (Technician), Diploma in Management Studies, ACCA, CIMA, CIPFA and ICAS. You could gain employment in range of careers e.g. finance officer.
