  • What qualifications do I need?This course is for post 16 learners with literacy skills at or working towards level 2-3 and hold a full Level 2 hairdressing qualification.

  • What will I learn?This course consists of units relating to contributing to planning and implementation of promotional activities, colouring hair using a variety of techniques, provision of colour correction techniques, provision of client consultation, creating a variety of looks using various cutting techniques, perming, styling and dressing of hair, promotion of additional products and services as well as health and safety.

  • How will I be taught?You will be taught through practical sessions delivered in Commercial Hairdressing and Beauty salons with theory being delivered using state of the art interactive whiteboards and ICT provision to help with assignments. One to one tutorial support is provided by industry qualified lecturers with up to date knowledge of new and emerging trends. Online exams are taken throughout the course.

  • How will I be assessed?Assessment is carried out by practical observation and online test.

  • What could I do next?An NVQ Level 3 qualification will give you the option of taking courses in running your own business and/or salon and salon management. It could also lead to taking a City and Guilds 730 further education teaching certificate.

  • How would this benefit my employer?Progressing to employment as a senior stylist.
