The Engagement Programme is organised into short taster courses that provide a varied range of vocational experiences including Construction, Music Technology, Business Enterprise and Graphics.

This programme is designed for new entrants to the country at year 10 or 11 who have English as a second language and do not possess the language skills to enter mainstream education. The programme uses specially trained ESOL teachers to quickly develop English speaking, listening, reading and writing skills. Learners complete ESOL qualifications along with continuing to develop maths and ICT skills. This course is very highly regarded with very high progression rates into mainstream education post 16.

This programme is designed to cater for disaffected learners, excluded learners or those not progressing well in traditional schooling. This course is truly personalised and integrates: • Foundation Learning units through Personal and Social Development and vocational tasters through the Engagement programme • Functional Skills in English, Maths and. ICT from entry levels to level 2 • GCSEs in English and Maths (offered as an additional option to those meeting the required entry criteria) • Vocational qualifications through the Pathways programme from entry to Level 2

Hair and Beauty

Introduction to Hair & Beauty (Yr 10) VTCT Level 1 Diploma, 37 credits, 500/8707/1

This level 1 course is a work-related course with practical elements providing a basic understanding of the Hairdressing & Beauty industry.

Construction and the Built Environment

C+G L1 Diploma in Basic Construction Skills 501/0798/7

This Practical course is an introduction to carpentry, painting, decorating and building techniques. There is a wide range of units that enable progression into the industry.

This Level 2 Pre-Apprenticeship course is designed as a direct progression route to a construction Apprenticeship or as progression to further training. Skills are developed in many areas of the construction industry with units in Brickwork, painting and decorating, carpentry and many others.

 

Football Academy (New)

This course is delivered as part of our PASE Football Academy (the largest Football Academy in England) in conjunction with Boreham Wood Football Club and fully delivered at the Enfield Centre. Aspiring Footballers can develop their skills to the highest level under the guidance of our professional football coaches. The Enfield Centre has an on site physiotherapist, excellent facilities and weights gym and good quality football pitches. Learners achieve a full level 2 Sports qualification while attending two hours a week of professional coaching and regular game time in this programme. The course can lead directly to our Football Academy post 16. (Football Academy tracksuit included in fees).

 

ESOL (New)
