About the Course

The advanced apprenticeship in accounting will strengthen the knowledge gained during the intermediate programme, giving you more responsibilities and complex tasks to reinforce your accounting skills. By gaining more industry experience and obtaining an advanced qualification, you will achieve increased confidence and knowledge within accounts and finance. This will give you a solid base on which to build your career and help you progress quickly in your chosen field.

The level 3 advanced certificate is made up of six areas, which include:

  • Advanced Bookkeeping
  • Final Accounts Preparation
  • Management Accounting: Costing, Indirect Tax, Spreadsheets for Accounting, Ethics for Accountants

On completion of this apprenticeship, you will achieve a Level 3 AAT Advanced Diploma in Accounting.

What You'll Study

On the advanced apprenticeship course you will learn:

  • Advanced Bookkeeping
  • Final Accounts Preparation
  • Management Accounting including Costing, Indirect Tax, Spreadsheets for Accounting and Ethics for Accounting


What Will I Need

You will need:

  • To be aged 16 or older
  • To be employed for a minimum of 30 hours per week with 20% of your normal working hours set aside for you to complete your training and study
  • 5 GCSEs at grade 4 or above, including English and Maths or Functional Skills at Level 2 in English and Maths

All applicants must have an interview and assessment in English and Maths to confirm that the apprenticeship is suitable for them.

Employers may also set additional entry requirements, as a prerequisite to working with them.
