ABOUT THE COURSE

This fast-track AAT course is a pre-apprenticeship that has been specifically designed to prepare you for an apprenticeship in accounting. It will provide you with the skills and experience you need to get to the best possible start in the financial world and understand the foundations of accounting. During the programme, you will experience visits to global firms, workshops and events hosted by CIMA, Goldman Sachs, KPMG and Bank of England, which will help you discover potential career opportunities and gain employability skills to enhance your job prospects.

WHAT WILL I STUDY?

During the course, you will study modules such as:

  • Introduction to Bookkeeping Transactions and Controls
  • Principles of Costing and the Business Environment

The course will provide you with a solid foundation in finance administration. You will be learning the skills you need to succeed in the industry.

WHAT WILL I NEED?

You will need:

  • Five GCSEs at grade 4 or above (A*C) including English and Maths
  • A reference from your previous school/college, with attendance of over 88%

All applicants must have an initial assessment and interview to confirm that the course is suitable for them.

HOW WILL I BE ASSESSED?

During this course, you will be continuously assessed through skills tests and online exams. There will be 4 end of unit assessments with this course. All units need to be successfully completed and passed to achieve the qualification.

If you will be aged 16, 17 or 18 on 31st August prior to the start date of your course and you have the legal right to remain in the UK for the duration of your programme then your study with us will be free. Please see here for the documents you will need to show us.

Adults - Entry Level, Level 1 and Level 2


If you will be aged 19+ on 31st August prior to the start date of your course, up to Level 2, then your study with us will be free. You must have lived for 3 years within the EU/EEA/UK prior to the start of your course, you must have lived in the UK before 1st January 2021 and you must have permission to live in the UK for at least 12 months from the first day of learning. WHAT CAN I DO AFTER?

This course will lead to a Level 3 Apprenticeship in Accounting. You can then progress to a Level 4 AAT, an apprenticeship, degree or employment in the accounting industry.
