This course is is the first year of the two-year Education and Training - Level 5 Diploma, validated by Canterbury Christ Church University. The programme meets the current government standards related to teacher education and is suitable for teachers working in Further or Adult and Community Education, as well as trainers in the public and private sector.
You will gain practical teaching skills and an overview of the theory related to teaching, as well as identifying the principles of learning, teaching, assessment and evaluation and develop an awareness of your professional role and responsibilities. The course will also focus on developing learning materials, managing the learning environment and enable you to become familiar with current approaches to delivering your specialist subject.
Our teachers are currently planning for the safest ways to deliver this course from September. We have been delivering all of our courses online since the outbreak of Coronavirus in March 2020, and we are fully equipped to continue this for as long as is necessary.
We are planning to deliver the course in a mixed format - blending online lessons with face-to-face teaching – as and when we feel that, on the basis of Government advice and our own risk assessments, it is safe to do so. We’ll continue to review our plans and keep you updated on changes as your course progresses.
