This course combines both practical and theory-based learning to give you the knowledge, skills and experience needed to work as an electrician within the building services trade. You will learn about the underlying principles of electrotechnology and study a range of electrical principles, as well as the relevant health and safety requirements.

All applicants must have an initial assessment and interview to confirm that the course is suitable for them.
You will be assessed through your completed practical tasks, against industry standards. There are also multi-choice and paper-based exams and written assignments.
If you will be aged 16, 17 or 18 on 31 August in the year you begin your course, and have been resident in the UK/EU/EEA for the past 3 years, it will be FREE. Some courses will have other costs associated, such as for materials and trips. If you will be aged 19 or older on 31 August in the year you begin your course, and have been resident in the UK/EU/EEA for the past 3 years, you may be eligible for an Advanced Learner Loan to cover the cost of your course.
