MEET SOME OF THE TEACHERS

Kwame Omari

Kwame holds a BSc Honours degree in Biology (University of Cape Coast, Ghana, 1981), a Diploma in Education (University of Cape Coast, Ghana, 1981), a PGCE from Greenwich University (2005), and an MSc in Environmental Science Chemistry (University of Strathclyde, Glasgow, 1992).

With over 20 years of teaching experience in FE colleges covering GCSE mathematics and science, A Level in Science, and Vocational courses, Kwame holds extensive knowledge in these subjects.

Kwame has also actively participated in scientific seminars, gained a certificate in Assessing Vocational Achievement (2012), and regular excursions with college students to university laboratories, while concurrently carrying out pastoral duties as a learning manager.

Towhid Alam

Towhid completed an MSc from one of the renowned universities in the United Kingdom. They worked with postgraduate students for several years in the universities for their projects and advised and guided a scientific team in the research-based industry to complete projects funded by the EU.

Towhid has been working in the FE sector for 15 years and has previously worked in secondary schools in the UK. Towhid has trained and assessed Laboratory Technicians at their workplace for their related qualifications.

Minas Mina

Minas earned a BSc degree in Physics and Physiology from the University of London, followed by a PhD in Physiology, focusing on cystic fibrosis and studying the impact of plasma on digestive system ion movement. He presented his research at various scientific conferences.

For four years, Minas conducted postdoctoral research at Imperial College London, exploring tiny electric currents across cells and hormone effects. Additionally, he obtained an MSc in Medical Diagnostics from the Royal Postgraduate Medical School, emphasising modern scientific and diagnostic techniques with an ethical perspective. In 2010, he earned a PGCE from Greenwich University.

For over 40 years, Minas taught Science and Mathematics at GCSE and A Level in schools, colleges, and privately, including university students, even teaching a princess. For 7-8 years, he worked at the Open University Summer School, serving as a demonstrator and tutor, assisting students in Biochemistry and Physiology.
