ABOUT THE COURSE

This Gateway qualification has been specifically designed to give you an introduction to working in health and social care, giving you the opportunity to improve your literacy, numeracy and ICT skills alongside learning about the sector.

WHAT WILL I STUDY?

  • Person-Centred Support
  • Principles and Values
  • Working in Health and Social Care
  • Protection and Safeguarding
  • Effective Communication
  • Employability Skills

WHAT WILL I NEED?

You do not need to have any previous qualifications.

You will need:

  • An enhanced DBS check

All applicants must have an initial assessment and interview to confirm that the course is suitable for them.

HOW WILL I BE ASSESSED?

You will be assessed through a portfolio of evidence, collected from written assessments, presentations, witness statements and practice observation.

WHAT WILL IT COST?

Aged 16-18


If you will be aged 16, 17 or 18 on 31st August prior to the start date of your course and you have the legal right to remain in the UK for the duration of your programme then your study with us will be free. Please see here for the documents you will need to show us.

Adults - Entry Level, Level 1 and Level 2


If you will be aged 19+ on 31st August prior to the start date of your course, up to Level 2, then your study with us will be free. You must have lived for 3 years within the EU/EEA/UK prior to the start of your course, you must have lived in the UK before 1st January 2021 and you must have permission to live in the UK for at least 12 months from the first day of learning. WHAT CAN I DO AFTER?

The course offers you the opportunity to develop your personal and professional skills to help prepare you for further study at Level 1, an apprenticeship or other employment.
