ABOUT THE COURSE

This course covers a wide range of vocational units relating to health and social care, specifically designed to help you pursue a career in the sector.

You will learn about a variety of key subject areas, such as  equality, diversity and rights in health and social care, human growth and development through the life span and the role and responsibilities of the health and social care practitioner in relation to safeguarding individuals.

30 hours of placement in a real work environment will be arranged by the college for you, providing opportunities for you to apply knowledge to practice, receive feedback, and reflect on your own experience. Placement also provides opportunities for you to observe professional practice in action and gain valuable employability skills.

Our teachers are currently planning for the safest ways to deliver this course from September. We have been delivering all of our courses online since the outbreak of Coronavirus in March 2020, and we are fully equipped to continue this for as long as is necessary. We hope to be able to deliver the course in a mixed format - blending online lessons with face-to-face teaching – as and when we feel that, on the basis of Government advice and our own risk assessments, it is safe to do so. The ratio of face-to-face teaching in our college buildings to online teaching will vary from course to course, so more specific information will be provided to you at enrolment.
