ABOUT THE COURSE

This course provides a number of transferable skills that will enable students to develop the knowledge and experience required to work in the ICT industry, such as Database Administrators, IT Product Developers, Telecommunications Technician, Systems support desk technician, Web designer, Network installation and support technician in the Information and Communications Technologies (ICT) sector.

WHAT WILL I STUDY?

Topics covered can include:

  • Customer Support Provision for the ICT Professional
  • Networking principles
  • Implementing an ICT Systems Security policy
  • Web development
  • Testing ICT systems
  • Maintain ICT Equipment and Systems 3
  • Install, configure and upgrade ICT software

WHAT WILL I NEED?

You will need:

  • 5 GCSE including English and Maths at grade 4 or above (or A*-C) or English and Maths Functional Skills at Level 2

HOW WILL I BE ASSESSED?

This course is assessed in class through supervised assignments which are subject to external standard verification.

WHAT WILL IT COST?

Adults

If you will be aged 19 or older on 31 August in the year you begin your course, and have been resident in the UK/EU/EEA for the past 3 years, you may be eligible for an Advanced Learner Loan to cover the cost of your course. Some courses will have other costs associated, such as for materials and trips.
