ABOUT THE COURSE

This course is designed for students who are looking to improve their understanding of injury, illness and rehabilitation in sport and active leisure. You will develop an understanding of the different types of injury and illness in sport along with the importance of warming up and cooling down. You will gain a greater understanding of sports rehabilitation techniques, including developing a rehabilitation programme.

WHAT WILL I STUDY?

Topics covered will include:

·       Types of injuries in sport

·       Types of illness in sport

·       Treatment of injuries and illnesses in sport

·       The physiological and psychological impact of injuries and illnesses in sport

·       Creating rehabilitation programmes

WHAT WILL I NEED?

No previous qualifications needed, however you will need an appropriate level of English

HOW WILL I BE ASSESSED?

The course will be assessed using a variety of written and practical assessments

WHAT WILL IT COST?

You will be required to wear sports related clothing and footwear.

WHAT CAN I DO AFTER?

On successful completion of this course you may progress onto Level 2 YMCA Certificate in Gym Instructing, Level 2 YMCA Diploma in Exercise and Fitness Instructing, Level 2 NCFE Certificate in Nutrition and Health or any other short courses we offer.
