ABOUT THE COURSE
This course provides you with an introduction to a career in one of the public services, such as police, ambulance, military, fire services and local government. You will take part in practical work, as well as learning the underpinning theory knowledge needed to pursue a career in the publc services.
WHAT WILL I STUDY?
Topics covered can include:
- Public service careers
- Improving health and fitness for entry into the uniformed public services
- Personal skills for the public services
- Practical teamwork in the public services
WHAT WILL I NEED?
You do not need to have any previous qualifications.
All applicants must have an initial assessment and interview to confirm that the course is suitable for them.
HOW WILL I BE ASSESSED?
Assessment is by coursework throughout the course.

If you will be aged 16, 17 or 18 on 31 August in the year you begin your course, and have been resident in the UK/EU/EEA for the past 3 years, it will be FREE. Some courses will have other costs associated, such as for materials and trips. Adults
Entry Level, Level 1, Level 2
If you will be aged 19 or older on 31 August in the year you begin your course, and have been resident in the UK/EU/EEA for the past 3 years, your course will be FREE, regardless of your age or income. WHAT CAN I DO AFTER?
On successful completion of this course, you could progress to Public Services - Level 2 Diploma. Alternatively you can progress onto our Fitness courses.
Opportunity to progress into the Special Constables with the Met Police.
