This course will provide you with opportunities to gain confidence with your life skills, whilst starting to develop your ability to be more independent.
You will develop confidence in practical life skills, such as using public transport and community facilities, whilst improving your English and Maths skills. The course also offers you the opportunity of supported work placement.
In addition, you will begin to explore a range of vocational subjects on offer, to assist in the development of work and life skills, including catering, gardening, painting and decorating. We can also support you during break and meal times.
Our teachers are currently planning for the safest ways to deliver this course from September. We have been delivering all of our courses online since the outbreak of Coronavirus in March 2020, and we are fully equipped to continue this for as long as is necessary. We hope to be able to deliver the course in a mixed format - blending online lessons with face-to-face teaching – as and when we feel that, on the basis of Government advice and our own risk assessments, it is safe to do so. The ratio of face-to-face teaching in our college buildings to online teaching will vary from course to course, so more specific information will be provided to you at enrolment.
If you will be aged 16, 17 or 18 on 31 August in the year you begin your course, and have been resident in the UK/EU/EEA for the past 3 years, it will be FREE. Some courses will have other costs associated, such as for materials and trips. Many of our students are eligible for financial support when studying at college – please click here for more information.
