ABOUT THE COURSE

This course will prepare you for a job, or further study, in the travel and tourism sector, looking at roles such as cabin crew, airport staff and tourist board officer.

As well as learning about the travel and tourism industry, you will develop the skills you need to start your career. A range of visits are included -. in recent years, learners have travelled abroad to Ireland, Spain, New York, Las Vegas and the Grand Canyon. You will also develop key skills in communication and information technology.

Many of our students choose international work placements and gain experience as customer service hosts at events across London. CONEL is located in North London, with multiple tourist attractions in close proximity, and international airports such as London Stansted and London City Airport.

WHAT WILL I NEED?

You will need:

  • Four GCSEs at grade 3 or above, including English or an equivalent Level 1 qualification at Merit
  • A reference from your previous school/college

All applicants must have an interview to confirm that the course is suitable for them.

HOW WILL I BE ASSESSED?

You will be assessed through assignments for each unit, which require individual and small group research, and a portfolio of work. There will also be two externally-assessed exams; these will be for:

  • The UK Travel and Tourism Sector
  • Travel and Tourism Business Environments

If you will be aged 16, 17 or 18 on 31 August in the year you begin your course, and have been resident in the UK/EU/EEA for the past 3 years, it will be FREE. Some courses will have other costs associated, such as for materials and trips. Adults

Entry Level, Level 1, Level 2
If you will be aged 19 or older on 31 August in the year you begin your course, and have been resident in the UK/EU/EEA for the past 3 years, your course will be FREE, regardless of your age or income. WHAT CAN I DO AFTER?

This course will help you to move on to higher level courses, such as the Travel and Tourism - Level 3 Extended Diploma, or to pursue employment.
