Introduction to the course

This AAT Level 2 course provides a solid foundation in accountancy, finance and business, and will prepare you for work in junior and entry-level accounting roles. During this course, you will study towards the Foundation Certificate in Accounting Level 2.

The course will help you develop a wide range of accounting skills, covering units such as:

-Recording income and receipts

-Initial trial balance

-Supplying information for management control

-Making and recording payments

-Health and safety

-Achieving personal effectiveness

-Working with accounting software (SAGE)

What do I need?

To enrol onto this course, you will need:

-2 GCSEs in English and maths at Grade C or above, which are now described as Levels 4 - 9

-A good reference

-An 88% attendance record

Before you enrol, you will be required to sit through an interview and conduct an assessed piece of work.

How is the course taught?

Throughout this course, you will be taught through a series of workshops, including guest speakers and visits. As well as a daytime option, the course can be studied twice a week in the evenings.

How will I be assessed?

During this course, you will be continuously assessed through skills tests and exams.

What does it lead to?

Once you’ve successfully completed this course, you could progress to the Accounting AAT Level 3 or an apprenticeship.

After completing the Level 2 AAT in Accounting, you will be more proficient in using accounting skills such as recording sales and purchases, extracting trial balance, calculating profit, chasing debtors and contributing to management decisions related to finance. This will enhance your performance and competitiveness at work.
