Introduction to the course

The Pre-Apprenticeship Foundation Certificate is a fast-track Level 2 AAT course. This course is run four days a week for 14 weeks. It will provide you with the skills and experience you need to get to the best possible start in the financial world and understand the foundations of accounting.

During this programme you will experience visits to global firms, workshops and events hosted by CIMA, Goldman Sachs, KPMG and Bank of England. These events will help you discover potential career opportunities and gain employability skills to enhance your job prospects.

What do I need?

To enrol onto the Pre-Apprenticeship Foundation Certificate in AAT at Level 2, you will need:

-2 GCSEs in English and maths at grade C or above, which are now described as Levels 4 - 9

-A good reference

-An 88% attendance record

You will also need to pass an assessment and attend an interview at the college before enrolling.

How is the course taught?

During the Pre-Apprenticeship, you will be taught through a series of lecturers, group activities and employment workshops.

How will I be assessed?

During this course, you will be continuously assessed through skills tests and online exams.

What does it lead to?

This course will lead to a Level 3 Apprenticeship in Accounting. You can then progress to a Level 4 AAT, an apprenticeship degree or employment in the accounting industry.
